Kian Capital Partners, a middle-market focused private investment firm, announced that Ulrich Erasmus has joined the firm as a Vice President to support the firm’s continued growth. Ulrich will be based in Charlotte and work closely with Kian partners in the investment sourcing and screening, due diligence, transaction execution, and portfolio management functions of the firm.
“As we continue to grow, we are committed to our investment thesis of providing first institutional capital to innovative entrepreneurs,” said Kevin McCarthy, Co-Founder and Partner at Kian Capital. “Ulrich brings with him extensive experience in working with founder-owned businesses that will enhance our team’s capabilities and help our management teams ignite growth and build enduring value. We look forward to his future contributions as we execute our strategy and continue to grow the firm.”
Ulrich has over seven years of experience in private equity. Prior to joining Kian, he was with Trivest Partners, a private equity firm focused on founder-owned businesses, where he was involved in all phases of the investment process including sourcing, transaction execution and portfolio company management. Before Trivest, Ulrich was an Associate at Trive Capital, a private equity firm focused on investments across the capital structure, where he was responsible for evaluating and executing new investments, including buyouts, growth equity, corporate carve-outs and structured capital solutions. Earlier in his career, Ulrich was an Analyst at Private Advisors, an alternative asset management firm, where he participated in all phases of the fund and equity co-investment processes.
“For me personally, it is a very exciting time to join Kian Capital,” said Ulrich. “The firm’s reputation and brand are highly-regarded, and it is a firm I’ve been following closely. Kian’s collaborative approach brings more than just capital to the table and creates a value proposition that is truly differentiated within the private equity middle market. I’m looking forward to being an integral member of the team.”
Ulrich holds a B.B.A. in Finance from The College of William & Mary and an M.S. in International Finance from HEC Paris.
