BlueBay Asset Management, RBC Global Asset Management’s specialist fixed income manager, has appointed two new senior hires to its Structured Credit team, Brian O’Hara as a Portfolio Manager and Mark Shohet as a Senior Analyst.
 
Brian and Mark are both US-based and will report into Sid Chhabra, Head of Structured Credit and CLO Management. Sid commented on their appointments,

Prior to joining BlueBay, O’Hara was the CMBS Portfolio Manager at KLS Diversified Asset Management for 13 years where he was head of CRE/CMBS investments, and a member of the KLS investment committee. O’Hara has also held senior positions at UBS Investment Bank, Morgan Stanley, and Fitch Ratings. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Economics, from Columbia University.
 
Shohet was Vice President of CLO Tranche Investing at Oxford Funds before joining BlueBay’s growing US team. He has also held roles at Ernst & Young, most notably as Manager of Structured Finance Transactions. Mark received a B.S. in Finance & Accounting from the University of Maryland and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, and is also a CFA Charterholder.
