Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) appointed Houston-based Francois Bardi and Dallas-based John Corrigan as Managing Directors in the firm’s U.S. Energy practice. The joining of Messrs. Bardi and Corrigan underscores A&M’s commitment to help energy clients seek growth, maintain operational excellence and achieve sustainability against the backdrop of sector volatility and transition

Messrs. Bardi’s and Corrigan’s hire continues the firm’s strategic expansion of its energy transition expertise, following the recent appointment of Energy Managing Director, Julie McLaughlin.

Mr. Bardi joins A&M from McKinsey & Company, where he was a Partner leading the firm’s oil and gas transformation service line. Prior to that, he spent eight years with ExxonMobil Upstream in Houston, serving in various positions spanning strategy, planning and engineering in connection with large capital projects and operations.

Mr. Corrigan joins A&M from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a Principal in its Strategy& practice, leading the Oil & Gas Strategy Group in the United States. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Strategy for Murphy USA, a fuels retailer with more than 1,400 locations.

“Francois’ and John’s combined expertise will help clients navigate a dynamic energy market, alongside growing regulation, ESG concerns and consumer awareness, to maximize value and drive change,” said, Lee Maginniss, Managing Director and leader of the U.S. Energy practice. “Their hires further connect the firm’s operational heritage with our goal of helping energy companies capitalize on transition opportunities. Francois’ and John’s experience in evaluating and implementing long-term de-carbonization strategies and developing corporate governance models will augment our ability to help clients evolve and achieve their sustainability imperatives.”

Mr. Bardi brings more than 20 years of industry and consulting experience to his new role at A&M. Among his notable assignments have been the turnaround of multiple distressed private, public, and national oil and gas companies. Working across three continents and multiple industry sectors, he has designed and implemented growth strategies for operators and major oil services companies, as well as operations improvements for international process companies including oil and gas, mining and chemical companies.

Mr. Bardi earned a master’s degree in engineering management from the Ecole Centrale de Lille, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in aerospace engineering and engineering mechanics from the University of Texas in Austin. He is bilingual in English and French.

Mr. Corrigan also brings more than 20 years of consulting experience to A&M, as well as ten years of broad energy industry experience. He currently focuses on helping clients navigate the changes driven by the energy transition and related sustainability reporting requirements and de-carbonization efforts. His recent engagements include technology and acquisition due diligence of low carbon energy options and market strategies for low carbon products, along with the launch of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trading for a national natural gas utility and the development of an early mover wind strategy for a municipal utility.

Mr. Corrigan earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas, Austin, and an MBA from the University of Texas, Dallas.
