Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced the appointments of Lorin Martin and Harold McDonald as Managing Director and Senior Director, respectively, to the firm’s Healthcare Industry Group (HIG). Their hires bolster the group’s Revenue Cycle Management capabilities, bringing focus to serving hospitals, health systems, and physician groups.
Mr. Martin has partnered with large academic medical centers, multi-facility health systems, community hospitals, and physician practice organizations, to develop revenue cycle improvements and interdisciplinary process efficiencies. Throughout his career, he has worked with more than 100 hospitals and health systems across the US, leading engagements which have generated hundreds of millions of dollars of recurring net revenue and operational improvements.
Additionally, Mr. Martin served in a leadership role at a large, multi-state health system overseeing revenue cycle standardization and consistency. Prior to joining A&M, he served as Managing Director within The Claro Group’s and Nordic Consulting’s Revenue Cycle practices. In these roles he led the buildout and growth of innovative revenue cycle solutions with a focus on high quality, sustainable results. These solutions spanned the revenue cycle in hospital and physician settings with a focus on operations, technology, and patient engagement that resulted in millions of dollars of improvements.
Mr. McDonald joins A&M from Medi-Centrix, where he served as Vice President, Revenue Cycle Services. Prior to Medi-Centrix, he served in a leadership role with a healthcare system focusing on developing the professional services revenue cycle infrastructure and driving the acquisition of physicians. During his career, Mr. McDonald has managed and partnered with the revenue cycle operations of large multi-site faculty practice plans, free standing physician organizations, community-based practices, and investor-owned healthcare organizations. He advises clients on integrating onshore and offshore?resources and technology to provide cost-efficient services and obtain recurring revenue improvements.
