Citizens Names Commercial Banking Executives to New Roles

March 07, 2023, 08:02 AM

Citizens named Jessica Rascionato to lead its Commercial Real Estate team and expanded Joanne Wyper’s role to head of Commercial Banking Digital and Operations to drive the Commercial Bank’s digital-forward strategy. Bragg Comer will succeed Rascionato as head of underwriting and portfolio management.

“Jess, Jo and Bragg are key leaders who have been very effective at helping us drive the Commercial business,” said Donald McCree, vice chairman and head of commercial banking at Citizens. “Our commercial real estate business, portfolio management and digital strategy are critical areas for us to serve our clients and I am confident these leaders will accelerate our progress in the right direction.”

Rascionato joined Citizens from General Electric Capital Corp. in 2015 and served as head of underwriting and portfolio management. She succeeds Gary Magnuson, who is retiring after more than 30 years with Citizens. Prior to GE Capital, Rascionato worked at Société Générale and Fuji Bank (now Mizuho) in New York City and was formally credit-trained at Citibank. She earned a bachelor’s degree in French and Russian at Georgetown University and an MBA with a finance concentration from Columbia University. She co-chaired the Boston chapter of 50/50 Women on Boards in 2021 and serves as a director of the Center for Women & Enterprise. She is a founding member and former chair of the Citizens Women’s Impact Network, a company business resource group focused on professional development and networking, which now has 2,000 members. For three years in a row, she has been named to the Yahoo Finance HERoes Women Role Model List.

Wyper was named to American Banker’s prestigious list of Women to Watch in 2019. She joined Citizens in 2009 and has led a number of key strategic initiatives, including developing a best-in-class client concierge service and pioneering an industry-leading robotic process automation program. Prior to joining Citizens, she held several senior positions at The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Comer brings extensive corporate and investment banking and portfolio management experience to his new role. In his 10 years with Citizens, he has held a variety of leadership roles and been actively involved in Citizens’ balance sheet optimization and capital allocation efforts.
