Webster Financial Corporation announced that Charles "Chad" Wilkins has been named executive vice president of Webster and Webster Bank, and head of HSA Bank effective Jan.3. HSA Bank, a division of Webster Bank, is a leading provider of consumer-directed health savings accounts.
Wilkins brings more than 25 years of banking and health insurance industry experience to HSA Bank. He was most recently president of his own consulting practice specializing in healthcare and financial services. Prior to that, he was general manager and chief executive officer of OptumHealth Financial Services, a division of UnitedHealth Group in Minnesota, where he managed all aspects of the $400 million financial services division with more than 500 employees. Wilkins began his career at US Bank in Minneapolis where he had roles of increasing responsibility over a 15-year period.
With over $2 billion in deposits and assets under management, HSA Bank provides tax-advantaged health care savings plans to about 600,000 consumers nationwide. Webster Bank is a leading regional bank serving businesses and consumers from metro New York to Boston, Mass. Wilkins will report to Jim Smith, chairman and chief executive officer of Webster.

Wilkins is a graduate of Lehigh University where he earned his bachelor's degree in political science. He is active in his community by volunteering and fundraising for United Way, Special Olympics, and Crossroads Career Network.
