Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (CSG Law) announced that Sol W. Bernstein has joined the firm as Of Counsel with the Corporate & Securities Group and the Banking & Finance Team.

“Sol is well-known in the New York and New Jersey banking legal community, with vast insight and experience in commercial loans in his capacity as both outside counsel and in-house attorney throughout his outstanding career,” said Junie Hahn, Chair of the firm’s Corporate & Securities Group. “Sol will bolster CSG Law’s capability in servicing client needs in virtually all aspects of corporate finance transactions, including asset-based and commercial credit facilities, equipment financing, syndicated loans, insurance premium financing, and interest rate hedge agreements.”

Bernstein is an accomplished commercial lending attorney with a strong balance of law firm and in-house experience in both New York and New Jersey. As counsel to domestic and foreign banks, he has documented middle market loans and syndicated credit facilities, with special focus in all areas of commercial lending, including leveraged, structured and acquisition finance, asset-based finance, cross-border and multicurrency lending, private banking, supply chain finance, commodity finance, insurance premium finance, syndications, participations, letters of credit, trade finance, public finance, derivatives, restructurings, sales of distressed debt and workouts.

“With its strong presence in New York and New Jersey, I saw CSG Law as an excellent fit where I can help to both support and grow its existing banking practice seamlessly in both major markets,” Sol Bernstein said.

Moreover, Bernstein has unique insight when it comes to lending to various industries including apparel, tech, healthcare and finance companies due to his many years of experience.

Immediately prior to joining the firm, Bernstein was in-house transactional lending counsel at Valley National Bank. His previous in-house positions were at Bank Leumi USA, Citibank, Amalgamated Bank and NatWest USA. He has also been a banking partner with several law firms in the New York metropolitan area.
