Crestmark’s Tull Named to Oakland University Board of Trustees

Crestmark is proud to announce that W. David Tull was appointed to the board of trustees for Michigan-based Oakland University by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. His eight year term will expire in August 2022. Also named was Melissa Stolicker.

"These two individuals have decades of executive leadership experience and are well prepared to serve on the board of one of Michigan's public universities," Snyder stated in the press release from Lansing.

Oakland University is a world-class academic institution located on 1,443 acres of wooded hills and meadows in Rochester, Michigan. A vibrant academic community, Oakland University currently enrolls more than 20,000 students, boasts nearly 100,000 alumni, and delivers more than 260 degree and certificate programs. The university is governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees appointed by the governor to serve eight-year terms. The board provides general supervision of the university, including control and direction of all expenditures from the institution's funds. The board also appoints the university president as well as the secretary to the board and treasurer.

Tull is Chairman, CEO and founder of Crestmark Bank. His career in banking spans more than 40 years, with prior positions that included Executive Vice President and Treasurer of Michigan National Corporation – a $12 billion bank holding company located in Farmington Hills, Mich. His 23-year career at Michigan National Corporation included a host of positions, including head of commercial work-out, head of lending, and treasurer. Tull has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, as well as a banking degree from the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. Tull was the 2007 Regional winner of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Financial Services / Economic Development. He has served on a multitude of civic and corporate board of directors including The Crown Group, Michigan National Bank, Independence One Mutual Funds, Marquette Venture Capital Advisory Board, Detroit Historical Society, and The Music Hall Center for Performing Arts. He is currently on the boards of the American Factoring Association and the International Factoring Association.
