Amalgamated Bank has named Carisa Stanley a First Vice President of Commercial Real Estate, responsible for growing Amalgamated’s business in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Stanley previously served as a Vice President of Commercial Real Estate at EagleBank and Fidelity and Trust Bank, specializing in the development of commercial real estate in the same region and managing a commercial real estate portfolio worth over $100 million. Immediately before joining Amalgamated Bank, Stanley was Director of Single Family Programs at Washington, D.C.’s Housing Finance Agency, where she managed mortgage products and services that included the agency’s affordable mortgage program and federally funded foreclosure prevention initiative.
“Carisa is a terrific addition to our growing real estate practice,” said Keith Mestrich, Amalgamated Bank’s President and CEO. “Her deep understanding of commercial real estate and finance, and strong commitment to the public good, make her a perfect fit for Amalgamated Bank’s team.”
Stanley began her career working in commercial real estate at BB&T and earned an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association and served as its 2012 Affordable Housing Committee Chair. She is also a certified instructor with the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors.
“It is a privilege to have the opportunity to join the commercial real estate division of a bank with such a storied history and unique mission,” Stanley said.
Since its founding in 1923 by the Amalgamated Clothing Worker of America, Amalgamated Bank has been committed to affordable and accessible banking for all.
