1stWEST Background Investigations issued the following statement with regard to the passing of its Chairman, Jerry Oldham.

It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that Jerry Oldham, Chairman of 1stWEST Background Investigations, passed away on Tuesday, March 10th.  As previously announced, Jerry received a diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's disease, late last year and valiantly battled the disease from his home in Colorado.  Jerry co-founded 1stWEST in 1991 and has worked tirelessly for nearly 25 years building 1stWEST into a market leader in the corporate finance industry.   Sue Bury-Oldham, Jerry’s beloved spouse, wants to express her appreciation to so many for their kind words, thoughts and prayers during Jerry’s battle.

Sue was named CEO of 1stWEST in October 2014.  She has been a vital member of the 1stWEST team since 1991 and, under her leadership, 1stWEST will continue to operate as usual.

We are so grateful to our colleagues and friends who have known Jerry and supported 1stWEST for so many years.  He loved people, and was very proud to be an active and vital part of the corporate finance community for so long.  He will be greatly missed.

Arrangements are being made for memorial services in Denver, as well as in the Philadelphia area, Jerry’s home town.

Editor's Note: The staff of ABL Advisor extends its most heartfelt condolences to Sue, Jerry's family and the employees at 1stWest.
