Polsinelli announced today the official release of the “The Devil’s Dictionary of Bankruptcy Terms,” the electronic version, or app, of the original publication, “The Devil’s Dictionary of Bankruptcy Terms for Commercial Lenders,” now in its 2nd edition.  The “Devil’s Dictionary” is a guide for commercial lenders and other restructuring professionals to obtain a quick reference to many of the buzz words used in today’s bankruptcy arena.  Now, with the app version, if you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod, you can quickly search or reference any key bankruptcy terminology and find accurate and, at times, humorous definitions.

“The book has been very popular over the years with firm clients and we felt making it available in an electronic form to a larger audience was the next natural step,” said Dan Flanigan, one of the original authors and Chair of the Financial Services and Real Estate Department at Polsinelli.  “Plus the Devil made us do it!”

“This book has been an excellent reference tool for several years and the idea of making something available at your fingertips was a no-brainer,” said Christopher Ward, Co-Chair of the Polsinelli Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Practice.

“The Devil’s Dictionary” reflects the collective wisdom of its four authors, Brett Anders, Jim Bird, David Ferguson and Flanigan, who have gained from their combined total of more than 110 years working in the forefront of real estate and other commercial finance, loan enforcement, financial restructuring and bankruptcy law.

In addition, “The Devil’s Dictionary” features instructive and humorous illustrations by respected cartoonist and illustrator, Charlie Podrebarac. Podrebarac’s first comic panel “Cowtown” appeared in the The Kansas City Star in 1984 and since then, he has created several others including “Smart Alex” and his latest, “Fat Cats,” which currently appears in several newspapers across the nation.

The “Devil’s Dictionary App” is available for free through iTunes.

Polsinelli is an Am Law 100 firm with 750 attorneys in 18 offices, serving corporations, institutions, entrepreneurs and individuals nationally.
