Greenberg Traurig Grows Litigation Practice in New York

August 11, 2015, 07:40 AM

The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has added Terri A. Mazur as a shareholder to its New York Litigation Practice. Mazur joins the firm from Kaye Scholer LLP.

Mazur is an experienced trial lawyer who focuses her practice on federal securities litigation, primarily in the financial services industry, as well as on antitrust and complex commercial disputes. She represents corporate clients, financial institutions, accounting firms, and their directors and officers in complex individual, class, and multidistrict actions involving lending, leasing, professional liability, and fraud claims in federal and state courts. Mazur’s practice also includes antitrust work for national and multinational corporations in the chemical, oil, airline, and other industries involving monopoly, cartel, price fixing, market allocation, and conspiracy claims.

“We welcome Terri to Greenberg Traurig,” said Richard A. Edlin, chair of the New York Litigation Practice. “Her distinguished career representing financial institutions complements the strong recent additions to the firm, including the Pete Michaels group in Boston and the Jeffry Henderson group in Chicago. We are continuing to build a strong financial services litigation team to best serve our clients.”

Mazur has tried numerous cases, including bench and jury trials, and evidentiary hearings for injunctive and emergency relief, in federal and state courts across the country. She has written numerous appellate briefs and argued successfully before the Courts of Appeals for the Third, Seventh, Ninth, and Tenth Circuits, as well as in state appellate courts.

“Greenberg Traurig’s strong reputation for representing financial institutions in litigation matters and its global platform will allow me to provide clients with the efficiency and effectiveness they are looking for,” said Mazur. “I am looking forward to working with the firm’s many talented practitioners.”

Since April, Frank Martire, Ivan Presant, Joseph Cosentino, Anthony L. Perricone, and Nanette Aguirre  joined the Corporate & Securities Practice;  John Kaufmann and Linda D’Onofrio joined the Tax Practice; and Peter Gruenberger joined the Litigation Practice, all in New York.

Mazur earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, and earned her B.A. from Cornell University.
