Perella Weinberg Partners announced that Bruce H. Mendelsohn has joined the Firm as a Partner in its Advisory business. Based in New York, Mendelsohn will lead the Firm’s restructuring practice, working closely with Partner Kevin Cofsky and the other members of the restructuring team.
Mendelsohn has more than 25 years of restructuring experience. He was most recently at Goldman Sachs where he was Head of the Americas Restructuring Group and part of the Leveraged Finance Team. During his 17 year career at Goldman Sachs, he established an impressive track record running Goldman’s restructuring advisory and rescue financing business where, since 2008, he focused on restructuring advisory, liability management, distressed M&A, and restructuring and rescue financings.

Prior to joining Perella Weinberg Partners, Mendelsohn was Head of the Americas Restructuring Group and part of the U.S. Leveraged Finance team at Goldman Sachs. In this role, he focused on restructuring advisory, liability management, distressed M&A, and restructuring and rescue financings. Mr. Mendelsohn joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 in the Securities Division and spent two years working on the distressed bond and bank loan proprietary trading desks. From 2000 to 2008, he served as Global Head of the Special Assets and Bank Debt Portfolio groups, and from 2006 to 2008, he also served as Chief Underwriting Officer for North America, where he was a member of Goldman’s Firmwide Capital Committee and its Special Situations Specialty Lending Investment Committee. Mendelsohn was named a Partner at Goldman Sachs in 2010.
