Cambridge Bancorp and its subsidiary, Cambridge Trust Company, announced the appointment of Scott Chamberlin as Senior Vice President to lead their Innovation Banking Group. Chamberlin previously served as Senior Vice President of Bridge Bank where he successfully co-founded their Technology Banking Group.
Cambridge Trust’s newly-launched Innovation Banking Group will work with mid- to late-stage entrepreneurial companies offering banking services to meet all of their specialized financial needs, including revolving credit lines, commercial loans, deposits, cash management, and foreign exchange.
“The Boston area has one of the highest concentrations of entrepreneurs anywhere in the country and we identified a lack of locally-based banks that specialize in the unique needs of companies in the innovation sector,” said Denis Sheahan, President and CEO of Cambridge Trust.
“We saw this as an opportunity to work with New England-based entrepreneurs to help them expand their vision.” Sheahan continued to say, “And Scott is a strategic hire in this area. He brings a depth of knowledge and expertise that positions us to be a leader in the space.”
“Cambridge Trust has a strong brand and track record across all their business lines. I’m excited to be on board and look forward to bringing Cambridge Trust’s strong reputation as a regional bank to meet the financing and banking needs of locally-based entrepreneurs and others in the startup ecosystem,” said Chamberlin.
Chamberlin has 20 years’ experience working with emerging growth companies in New England and Silicon Valley. He most recently served as Senior Vice President at Gibraltar Technology Finance. Chamberlin also worked as Senior Vice President at Bridge Bank and Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank.
