IFA Names Missouri Congressman to Speak at 23rd Annual Conference

February 24, 2017, 07:00 AM

The International Factoring Association (IFA) announced that The Honorable Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-MO) will speak at the 23rd Annual Factoring Conference. He currently serves as Representative for Missouri's 3rd congressional district. Congressman Luetkemeyer will address issues that impact the financial services industry and offer a Congressional viewpoint on the regulation and oversight of the finance and small business communities.

Representative Luetkemeyer currently serves as Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit. The subcommittee has jurisdiction over all federal banking regulatory agencies, including the Federal Reserve, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the National Credit Union Administration; the chartering, branching, merger, acquisition, consolidation, or conversion of financial institutions; the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; consumer credit; consumer access to financial services; credit and debit cards; credit bureaus and providers; and deposit insurance, among other items.

Representative Luetkemeyer also serves as a senior member and former Chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. In addition, he serves as Vice Chairman of the House Small Business Committee. Along with a strong agriculture background, he was also a small businessman, having been in the banking and insurance business. Representative Luetkemeyer served as a bank regulator for the state of Missouri earlier in his career.

“We look forward to having Representative Luetkemeyer’s perspective on what we can expect for 2017,” said Bert Goldberg, Executive Director of the International Factoring Association.
