July 28, 2017, 08:00 AM

Grant Thornton LLP has named Greg Ross national managing partner for the firm’s Construction, Real Estate, Hospitality and Restaurants (CRHR) industry practice. Ross, who currently leads the firm’s CRHR practice in the Carolinas and is sector leader for the national Real Estate practice, will assume his new role effective August 1, 2017. He succeeds Alvin Wade, who has led Grant Thornton’s CRHR industry practice since 2009.

Ross has nearly 25 years of experience serving the audit and diligence needs of construction, real estate and hospitality companies. He has worked with an array of public and private companies and has focused on new accounting implementation, financial reporting preparation and transaction services.

“Greg is a proven leader within our firm who has demonstrated a keen ability to create value for clients,” said Nichole Jordan, national managing partner of Markets, Clients and Industry for Grant Thornton. “His experience with the delivery and oversight of audit, tax and consulting services for companies within these industry groups will help our clients navigate a complex regulatory environment and grow their business.”

Ross is a certified public accountant (CPA) in North Carolina and New York and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Construction Financial Management Association. He also serves as an associate board member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and is a former board member and treasurer for the Urban Land Institute. He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Appalachian State University.
