Orrick announced that leading finance lawyer Vincenzo Paparo has joined the firm as a partner in our Banking & Finance Group, resident in New York. Formerly with Proskauer Rose, Paparo is the 30th partner to join Orrick this year.
Paparo advises U.S. and international commercial banks and other financial institutions and corporations in a broad range of financial transactions, particularly direct lending and cross-border matters. He also has an extensive background in traditional asset-based financings, secured and unsecured syndicated bank financings, junior capital lending, specialty financings, senior lending facilities and subordinated bridge loans. In addition, Paparo provides counsel on corporate finance workouts and restructurings with experience in the oil & gas, natural resources and financial services sectors.
“Orrick has a top quality finance practice,” said Paparo. “I was attracted to the firm’s ‘one team’ culture and strong footprint in key jurisdictions both domestically and internationally. I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues to help grow the platform and better serve our clients.”
“Vince is a highly regarded and versatile finance practitioner, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team," said Al Sawyers, leader of Orrick’s global Finance Department.
Paparo has served on the Board of Governors of the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys and is a member of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers. He served as co-head of Proskauer’s Finance Group for over seven years.
Paparo’s arrival follows several recent additions to Orrick’s New York office, growing its corporate, IP and litigation practices. Earlier this year, Greg Morvillo, Scott Morvillo, Amy Walsh and Ellen Murphy joined the firm from white collar and securities litigation boutique Morvillo LLP, and copyright authority Paul Fakler joined Orrick’s IP practice from Arent Fox. David Schwartz joined the firm’s M&A and private equity practice from Hughes Hubbard & Reed in April.
He joins a global team of about 250 finance lawyers with distinct strengths in direct and commercial bank lending, project finance, structured finance and international restructurings. Orrick offers the only legal portal for the corporate direct lending community, which utilizes technology to provide simple solutions to a wide variety of common issues that surface in direct lending transactions.
