Lathrop Gage named Robert Haupt as Partner in the firm’s Kansas City, Missouri, office, joining the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights team. Haupt brings an extensive resume of insolvency experience, proficiency in commercial and civil litigation and a background in commercial real estate development and management. He has served as a court-appointed receiver of hotels, resorts, golf courses and land developments throughout the United States.
Haupt formerly ran Haupt Law, P.C., a full-service commercial litigation and bankruptcy law firm, and co-founded and developed the National Litigation Law Group, PLLC, a nationwide, high-volume legal services firm. NLLG resolved hundreds of millions of dollars of consumer debt both in and out of litigation. Haupt also previously served as a shareholder and director with one of the largest full-service law firms in the state of Oklahoma, where he led the bankruptcy and restructuring group, representing regional and national clients.
Haupt received his Juris Doctor, with high honors, from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Prior to law school, Haupt formed two hospitality industry companies: HG Corp in Minneapolis, Minnesota and World Airport Inns LC in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, by which he became a successful hotel and real estate developer, owning and operating more than 100 properties nationwide. Haupt received his M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, a diploma in Japanese Studies from Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, Japan, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Oklahoma Baptist University.
