Trahan Joins Alvarez & Marsal Tax as Managing Director, Expanding Firm’s Transfer Pricing Offering

Alvarez & Marsal Tax (A&M Tax), an affiliate of Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), announced the appointment of Sean Trahan as Managing Director within its Transfer Pricing line of service. Following the hiring of Managing Directors Dan Peters and Matt DeFelice along with Senior Economists Barry Freeman and Clark Chandler, Mr. Trahan’s joining continues the build out of A&M’s global transfer pricing team while underscoring A&M Tax’s strategic international expansion.
 
Trahan’s primary areas of concentrationw include intellectual property (IP) planning and value chain optimization, as well as complex controversy management for large multinationals. He also leads large-scale value chain restructurings across several geographies and sectors, involving multidisciplinary teams focused on operating model design, transfer pricing, direct and indirect taxes, customs, and systems implementation.

Trahan is recognized for his cross-border transfer pricing expertise, experience establishing transfer pricing practices and ability to help clients navigate jurisdiction complexities. He works across a range of industries, including consumer products, technology, media and entertainment, healthcare and industrial manufacturing.
 
Trahan has negotiated advanced pricing agreements (APA) and mutual agreement procedure (MAP) cases with tax authorities across the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Africa and has in-depth working knowledge of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) environment.

Prior to joining A&M, Trahan spent 22 years at EY, where he most recently served as a partner in the firm’s transfer pricing and supply chain practice in New York. Before his New York role, he was based in London, where he led EY's US transfer pricing and supply chain desk for EMEIA. In addition to his leadership roles in New York and London, he founded and led EY's Carolinas transfer pricing and supply chain practice in Charlotte, NC.
