Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM), a global investment management firm, has named Jan Rohof as Director of Quantitative Solutions, Asia Pacific (APAC), based in Melbourne.
Rohof will lead Northern Trust Asset Management’s quantitative investment solutions in the Asia-Pacific region, focused on creating high-quality, tailored investment strategies for existing and prospective clients.
Rohof’s appointment is the latest in a number of appointments announced by Northern Trust Asset Management in its global active quantitative business, in line with continuing demand for its strategies. In 2023 Guido Baltussen, Prof. Ph.D joined Northern Trust Asset Management as head of Quantitative Strategies International, followed by the appointments of Milan Vidojevic, Ph.D, and Bart van Vliet in January 2024.
Rohof’s role in APAC underscores Northern Trust Asset Management’s commitment to supporting regional investors with quantitative expertise, in their home market, and broadens its existing global team.
“Quantitative strategies are a cornerstone of our ability to provide innovative solutions to both our institutional and wealth clients, and we see continuing demand for our quant capabilities,” said Baltussen. “Jan joins a global team of more than 40 quantitative investment professionals globally, supporting a variety of strategies to provide factor exposures across the capitalisation and regional equity spectrum. Jan brings strong regional expertise and quant experience to our business, further strengthening our global platform.”
Prior to joining Northern Trust Asset Management, Rohof spent ten years at Robeco as an investment specialist and most recently as client portfolio manager, based in Sydney. He holds a master’s degree from Erasmus University in Strategic Management and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Twente in International Business Administration.
“At Northern Trust Asset Management, we have a strong history of helping investors navigate changing market environments, supporting them in confidently realising their long-term objectives,” said Miles Mallick, Head of Northern Trust Asset Management in Australia. “Jan’s presence in Melbourne bolsters our regional capabilities, ensuring we bring the best possible support to our clients in region and underscores our commitment to growing our presence in APAC.”
