Angelo Gordon announced that Allison Binns, former Executive Director for Global Sustainability Research at Morgan Stanley, has joined the firm as Head of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Investing Strategies. In this new role, Ms. Binns will lead and drive a best-in-class, strategic approach to ESG integration and opportunity across Angelo Gordon’s global platform. Ms. Binns will report to Josh Baumgarten and Adam Schwartz, Angelo Gordon’s co-Chief Executive Officers.

In addition to the appointment of Ms. Binns, Angelo Gordon has become a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), demonstrating the firm’s ongoing commitment to implementing ESG across its platform. The firm has been a member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Alliance since 2019.

Binns brings over a decade of ESG experience to Angelo Gordon. Before joining Morgan Stanley, she spent over seven years at Chevron, where she served in a number of senior corporate advisory roles focused on ESG and geopolitical issues.
Binns is an active supporter of NYC nonprofits. She currently serves as president of the Poetry Society of America, is a trustee of the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship and is a director at the FDR Four Freedoms Park Conservancy. Ms. Binns received an A.B. in Sociology from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University.
