Laura Martone has rejoined Haynes and Boone as partner in the firm’s New York office. Her practice focuses on finance transactions, including oil and gas finance, renewable energy, commodity finance and trading, and real estate lending.
Martone represents financial institutions, other lenders, private equity sponsors and portfolio companies, and other borrowers in connection with the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of secured and unsecured credit transactions, including asset-based loans, acquisition financings, project financings, term loans, working capital loans, commodity financings, oil and gas secured financings, and intercreditor arrangements. Martone also represents borrowers and lenders in out-of-court restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings. She has practiced in New York, California, and Texas.
Martone previously worked at Haynes Boone in the firm’s Orange County office. She most recently was a finance partner in New York at Bracewell LLP. Prior to entering private practice, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Phil Johnson and the Honorable Michael H. Schneider of the Supreme Court of Texas. Laura received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and her juris doctor from University of Houston Law Center.
“We are thrilled to have Laura back in the fold,” said Haynes Boone Partner Jeff Nichols, co-chair of the firm’s Energy Practice Group. “Her broad-based experience handling complex financing transactions in a range of industries will be a tremendous asset to our clients.”
Martone said she was drawn back to Haynes Boone because of its well-rounded finance practice, spanning energy, real estate, private equity, and other sectors. “I am also excited to work closely again with so many trusted colleagues and friends in Haynes Boone’s Finance Practice,” she said.
