The Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PA Bankers) awarded the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Pioneer and Changemaker Awards to two industry leaders who have been driving forces behind the association’s DEI efforts.
Joseph (Joe) Major, bank leader, chairman & CEO of The Victory Bank, received the DEI Pioneer Award in recognition of his leadership role in promoting the importance of DEI within the Pennsylvania banking industry.
T. Michael (Mike) Price, president & CEO of First Commonwealth Financial Corporation, received the DEI Changemaker Award in recognition of his commitment to advancing DEI engagement throughout the PA Bankers membership.
“On behalf of the association, our board of directors and the banking industry, PA Bankers thanks Joe and Mike for their exceptional contributions to elevating and celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion across the banking industry,” said Duncan Campbell, PA Bankers’ president and CEO. “PA Bankers is committed to helping our members achieve their diversity, equity & inclusion goals. Without the strong leadership from Joe and Mike, we would not be where we are today.”
Joe and Mike were honored at the association’s inaugural DEI Conference on April 28 at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in Hershey, Pa. The conference – the first of its kind in the PA banking industry – featured industry professionals who shared best practices and lessons in creating a sustainable inclusive culture; increasing supplier diversity; intentional recruitment of diverse talent; employee communication, engagement, retention and leadership development; and creating inclusivity with customers and the community.
