Sidley has added Justin Macke as an M&A and Private Equity partner in New York. Prior to joining Sidley, Mr. Macke was a partner at Jones Day, working on a wide variety of transactions for private equity and corporate clients.
Mr. Macke has a diverse skill set that includes advising private equity clients on acquisitions, strategic transactions, and exits. He also advises corporate clients on M&A, corporate governance, capital raising, activism defense, and SEC matters. He has particular experience working on cross-border transactions and complex carve-outs.
“Justin is a versatile lawyer who has worked on a wide variety of transactions and matters for PE and public company clients,” said Brian Fahrney, co-leader of the firm’s global M&A and Private Equity practice and a member of Sidley’s Management and Executive Committees. “Continuing to grow our private equity practice remains a high priority for the firm. Justin will work closely with our existing PE team to offer best-in-class service to our private equity clients as we continue to build this key practice area.”
“Because of his experience and versatility, Justin is an impressive talent,” said Mike Schmidtberger, chair of Sidley’s Executive Committee. “Justin will be an integral part of our global firm and our New York practice as we continue to capture more deals in the PE space and grow our work for public companies.”
